Monteverde Overnight Tour

The town of Monteverde is located approximately 4 hours away from Tamarindo and no visit to Costa Rica is complete without visiting this beautiful tropical cloud forest. 

 

Settled first by Indigenous people, later by small numbers of Costa Ricans, and finally by Quakers in the 1950´s, Monteverde has justifiably garnered worldwide attention as a premier destination for naturalist travelers. The forest reserve at Monteverde is also the site of much international research on tropical ecosystems.

Our tour begins with a magnificent hike through the Biological Reserve, where our naturalist guide will show you and explain the different ecosystems as well as show you some of local flora and fauna.

 

This forest is home to the beautiful Quetzal bird which is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and with some luck you will be able to see it, Monteverde is also home to many other animals including a huge variety of colorful hummingbirds, toucans, sloths, coatis, poison dart frogs and much more.

Costa Rican style lunch will be provided before continuing to our next adventure this time we head to a local farm where they plant coffee, cocoa beans and sugar cane; here you are going to learn everything about coffee, cocoa and sugar cane and the process they goes thru to get become all those delicious treats and you will have the chance to taste the different products made with them.

 

The evening is free to walk around town and observe the beautiful night life this picturesque little town has to offer.

Next morning we will enjoy breakfast at our hotel and head to our next adventure which is a zip lining tour through the cloud forest.

 

This exhilarating and adrenaline filled tour features 9 cables and also the largest Superman Cable in Latin America measuring 1590 meters, after we head back to Tamarindo stopping along the way for some delicious lunch.
